Dionne Kerr started her career in training and development before moving into the services industry and then to a small mining brokerage called Anderson Wilson & Partners. In 1995, after being bought by Standard Bank, she became Head of Operations and worked for Standard Equities, a division of Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank until 1998.
In this year, Dionne started an Executive Search firm focusing on providing solutions within the Banking industry. The business provided services across four countries and won awards for its participation in diversity programmes within this industry. Dionne was exposed to requests to assist with increasing demand for consulting services. Through this demand her expertise was broadened to Black Economic Empowerment, an area which she started to actively advise in from as early as 1999.
Currently, Dionne serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Siyakha Consulting, a management consulting firm focusing on providing solutions to the Private and Public Sector in performance, productivity and people management. She has actively advised companies in issues around Black Economic Empowerment, Human Resources, Job Creation Programmes and Organisational Development for the past 10 years.
Dionne has spoken at several seminars, conferences and events on the topic of Black Economic Empowerment and transformation over the past 10 years. She has developed Black Economic Empowerment strategies for South African and global companies across several industries and has actively engaged with several trade missions from all over the world to educate and address the issues around investment in the South African market.
An avid believer in community development, Dionne remains actively involved in issues involving Entrepreneurial Development, community development, job creation, disability support programmes and youth support.
She is a past recipient of the DIVA Africa award for her involvement in SMME Development, is Chairperson of the BEE Working Group for the British Chamber of Business and serves on the Board of Directors for the British Chamber of Business.
