Karen started her working career with numerous junior administrative positions, working herself up into a manager position at Steam Easy in 1997. 

Seeing the potential of Steam Easy, she chose to purchase the closed corporation when the owners retired.

Karen owned the closed corporation until, due to the political changes in Corporate policies and BEE , closed in 2003.

Since closing Steam Easy in 2003, Karen has expanded her working knowledge by working for various companies. Most  positions held were  in administration and management.

Karen currently serves on the Board of The British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa as Company Secretary.

Karen is also actively involved in the day to day management of the The British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa.
