The British Chamber of Business requests the pleasure of your company at our formal dinner on 20 October 2009. The British High Commissioner Dr NICOLA BREWER will be our Guest of Honour and Speaker at the event.
Our objective for the coming year is to raise funds. The Chamber is planning to sponsor at least one Chevening Scholarship for the academic year starting September 2010. The Chamber will invite young graduates currently working in the South African Government to apply for the scholarship and to put it towards a Post-Graduate qualification in Public Administration at a British Institution. Applicants will have to demonstrate leadership qualities and a willingness to serve in the South African Government. The cost of one scholarship will amount roughly to R300,000.00 for the year. Chevening scholarships are managed through the British Government and are highly regarded. Surplus funds will be used to support a local Educational Charity. The activities of the chamber in the area of bursaries and educational assistance are allocated to qualifying beneficiaries for the purposes of BEE.
Companies and Individuals are hereby invited to provide sponsorship for this event. This could be at any of the following levels: Platinum: R50,000.00 Gold: R35,000.00 Silver: R25,000.00 Bronze: R10,000.00 Table of 10: R5500.00 Individual tickets: R550.00 Sponsors will be recognized at the event. The Gala Dinner will be hosted at the Sunnyside Park Hotel in Parktown. Dinner will be a three course menu and each table will have four bottles of wine included in the price.
